Hee hee...it's been a while since I have written on the old blog, so I felt it might be nice to fill in what has been happening, though I doubt anyone is reading this at all.
We are getting closer to heading to Keystone. I am so ready physically, mentally, and well, whatever other way I can be ready. Kieran's completely outfitted now from his hat to his boots. Jared is ready to learn to ski. And well, I am ready to head out for the ambiance and beauty of the Rockies.
I was surprised with a birthday present on Saturday night. My mother-in-law got me a ticket to go with her to see George Strait, Reba, and LeeAnn Womack at the arena after we get back from Keystone. I was truly flabergasted and our seats are awesome. We'll be right where we can see them well! Words can't begin to describe how excited I am and that is no lie!
Right now, it's Monday night, I have no school tonight, we're watching the Golden Girls marathon and Kieran is making out with his reflection again. LIFE IS GOOD! If only the freakin' fog would go away!!
I forgot to add, Kyle is the new boys name I think we are going to go with. Kyle Allyn Nolen. Has a nice ring to it!! If anyone is actually reading this, let me know what you think!
Team Nolen consists of myself (Hilly), my husband Jared, our son Kieran, and our daughter Lauren, and our newest addition, set to arrive very soon, Madeline!

TGIF!
Thank goodness it is almost Friday! I have tomorrow to get through and another weekend will be upon me. The week has been a long one, that's for sure. Kieran and Jared were sick off and on all week. Both of the guys seem to be doing better, though, and that's what really matters in the end. Work has been slow...no one has wanted to get out and shop, which sucks for sales but it is less stressful for us all in the end :)
Kieran had his latest checkup on Tuesday...he is nearly 30 lbs and is 35 inches tall! What a big boy! And I think he will make a perfect big brother to Little Peanut. I got to hear the heartbeat...164 bpm. Still up in the air whether or not it is a boy or a girl. I will take whatever God gives me :) And honestly, right now, I would truly love it if He would just give me a nap!!
The weekend will be a quiet one. Saturday night, Brad Paisley is in concert at the new arena and my mother-in-law Jeanne is going to get to go see him. Very exciting! Other than that, there is not much else going on. I am really wanting to go to a WSU Men's basketball game, so maybe after Grandpa Larry gets back from California we could all go together!
A little less than a month until we get to go to Keystone. Made motel reservations for our first stop along the way. We are headed to Goodland, Ks and then will go the rest of the way to Keystone on Sunday. I am so ready to get back to the mountains and we just got to see a little sliver of the Rockies. I can totally understand what John Denver was talking about in his song, "Rocky Mountain High!" I think Kieran will really have a good time between the snow and the hustle/bustle. And Grandpa Larry has prepared a sled for Young Kieran, LOL, and is anxious to get him into it as soon as we get to River Run. Have I mentioned that I AM EXCITED TO GET TO KEYSTONE?????!!!!!!???????????

A Brand New Day and a Brand New Year
Looking back on the last year and all of which it entailed there were many good times...many milestones peppered by a few unsavory moments. I do not really want to talk too much about them, so I will hold my head high and look forward to the new year with joy and anticipation. So many wonderful things are going to be happening in my family this year. Jason will be coming home from Iraq, I believe there are several cousins as well as myself who will be bringing babies into the world throughout the year! Very exciting! My younger stepsister Lucy is getting married in October! Life is changing every day for us all and it's a fabulous ride even when things get a little bumpy.
Kieran pottied two or three times yesterday...zip for today, but we were running errands and spent a nice evening with the family over at Jeanne's house eating dinner and visiting. Ham and beans certainly do hit the spot on a cold day like today.
We also got to discuss some of our plans for our family trip to Keystone in February. I am so ready to take off and head for Colorado it isn't even funny. I know Jared is itching to go, LOL! We are anxious to see how Kieran does up there. I think he will have a blast. And of course, he will be Grandma's little man the whole time we are gone.
Just wanted to post some lyrics to a Ryan Shupe song called "Dream Big." Not sure who wrote it, but whoever it was did an awesome job!
When you cry be sure to dry your eyes
'Cause better days are sure to come
And when you smile be sure to smile wide
Don't let them know that they have won
And when you walk, walk with pride
Don't show the hurt inside
Because the pain will soon be gone
And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean blue
'Cause when you dream it might come true
When you dream, dream big
When you laugh be sure to laugh out loud
'Cause it will carry all your cares away
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself
And it'll help you feel okay
And when you pray, pray for strength
To help you carry on
When the troubles come your way
And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean blue
'Cause when you dream it might come true
When you dream, dream big
When you laugh be sure to laugh out loud
'Cause it will carry all your cares away
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself
And it'll help you feel okay
And when you pray, pray for strength
To help you carry on
When the troubles come your way
And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean blue
'Cause when you dream it might come true
When you dream, dream big
